I had taken lead on the SEO and content strategy for HomeChoice for roughly the last year. When considering an e-Commerce website like HomeChoice, it’s important to consider the end goal: increasing conversions. Increasing traffic is important to this goal as well, but the idea was to focus not only on the quantity of traffic, but the quality of traffic to the site.

By combining tried and tested SEO methods, with a new approach to content marketing that considers LSI, we were able to not only increase traffic on a month-to-month and year-on-year basis, but also ensure that there was a significant growth in revenue as well.

An important part of this campaign was understanding the audience making use of the site. By analyzing data, extracting insights, and adjusting the campaign accordingly, I was able to ensure a flexible campaign that produced results.

The joy of this campaign was working with a ton of hard-working, brilliant, intelligent people to produce consistent results for a client that is one of my agency’s longest standing clients.

The integrated campaign focused on web enhancements, conversion optimisation through user behaviour study, as well as email, content marketing, onsite SEO enhancements, and PPC to improve traffic and conversions on the e-commerce site. All of this work has delivered an award winning campaign that continues to deliver substantial results on a month-on-month, and year-on-year basis.

WesBank is one of the largest campaigns I’ve ever worked on. In my work for this client, a tremendous focus was placed on producing customised reports to help constantly improve the website and user experience.

Additionally, I collaborated with a number of talented individuals to ensure that WesBank remains top o mind, withe strong rankings in the vehicle finance search space, with a focus on the two dominant parts of their operations: personal finance, and business asset finance.

My agency had been selected by the Tiger Brands home and personal care division as the lead digital agency . The goal was to define a high quality digital strategy for their brand portfolio, build a multi-site platform and execute a tactical marketing initiative to engage customers and drive sales.

While I wasn’t in many of the strategic meetings, my role for this project was mostly with deployment of the broader SEO campaign on a number of their home and personal care standalone brand sites.

This project has given me some solid experience in working with FMCG products, as well as with more traditional approaches to marketing and the study of consumer behaviour and insights.

My agency was appointed to define a SEO and Social Media strategy for Sanlam Investments. The objective being to build brand awareness and deliver sales leads from direct, itermediary and institutional audiences.

I worked with a group of amazing people, combining an integrated onsite SEO, content and social media strategy that delivered high quality, optimised content with consistent messaging across platforms. This produced positive results for our client by creating interesting and valuable content for their audiences.

My agency was approached by Disney to maintain Disney Healthy Living, a site they run in partnership with Discovery Vitality.

The site focuses on providing high quality content for kids in the form of games, crafts, recipes and more. While our team provided web support, I worked extensively on the optimisation of the site to ensure maximum visibility and improved user experience on the site.

In addition, I provided in-depth analytics reporting, mining insights to constantly improve the ongoing campaign, ensuring consistent results over time.

I work as part of a braoder SEO, Content and Web Development team to deliver digital strategy and maintain the Grow Africa website.

As one of a number of overseas clients who sees value in outsourcing to South Africa, this has provided me with a unique opportunity to be part of a global marketing strategy. Working on nuanced targeting for a variety of regions globally has been an interesting experience.

My duties included strategy development and adjustment, SEO optimisation, as well as in-depth analytics reporting, providing unique and valuable insights.

UPDATE: All previous content was remove from the Mweb site as they moved their content strategy away from business & technology, towards gaming.

I worked on a freelance basis for the MWEB content department, creating a number of high quality, relevant, and optimised articled for their website.

As with many forms of content marketing, all content was produced to help engage potential clients as a form of inbound marketing on their website. The content I produced was focused around Entrepreneurship, as well as Technology both locally and globally. As some of the topics I enjoy reading on a day-to-day basis, this was more fun than work for me.

Update: Since I left Rogerwilco (where I was managing this client), Triumph has changed their structure and now has one global site which does not reflect in the same way as when I was working on their SEO campaign.

I was once again lead for the SEO and Content strategy for Triumph, and designed methodical yet creative campaigns to help this South African online lingerie store outrank a number of industry leaders on a range of underwear terms.

The goal here was to use the data to see what audiences wanted, and ensure that those results were served to them effectively in SERPs. Additionally, some creative optimisation ensured a visually interesting experience for searchers, so much so that I picked up a Silver Assegai Award, and a Bronze Bookmarks Award in 2017 for this campaign.
